OMRON participated in GTC 2025, an international technology conference hosted by NVIDIA in San Jose, USA, bringing together tech professionals from around the world, and was able to engage in exchanges about cutting-edge technologies with representatives from industry, government, academia, and the media in Silicon Valley. At this event, OMRON demonstrated the capabilities of control technology in manufacturing sites and its vision for the future through exhibiting the latest concepts related to its digital twin technology and LLM-AI applications. We exchanged opinions with NVIDIA engineers, researchers, and manufacturing professionals and had an in-depth discussion about industrial AI training and on-site collaboration using Omniverse. Furthermore, the exhibition attracted the interest of media and experts from around the world, and OMRON's exhibition theme of integrating OT (operational technology) and IT (information technology) attracted a lot of attention. This exhibition attracted so much attention that footage was even shown during NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang's keynote speech. Underlying His Actions Was a Firm Belief in the Importance of Contributing to Society ― Unraveling the Thoughts of OMRON’s Founder, Kazuma Tateishi https://lnkd.in/g4sD8jbc “Kazuma was a man who not only built companies from scratch and became a world leader in technology, but also excelled in his talent, humanity, erudition, and vision.” This is what Peter Drucker described Kazuma Tateishi, a founder of OMRON. As Peter said, Kazuma became a "master of life" whose explorations took him to a wide range of subjects, from literature and theater to music, painting, medicine, sports, and food. That kind of person created us, OMRON. OMRON was established in Osaka in 1933 as Tateisi Electric Manufacturing. Now, we will introduce how Kazuma founded OMRON after a mischievous boyhood. We are happy that you can focus on Kazuma and OMRON’s unique innovation, corporate management philosophy, and foresight with looking back on his background. ■After Many Twists and Turns, Kazuma Found His Vocation Kazuma was born in 1900, who were engaged in the manufacture and sale of Imariyaki porcelain’s sake cups in Kyushu. Kazuma was poor, and had a lot of hardships during childhood, but he supported his family and enjoyed playing to his heart's content. He must have nurtured how to face life challenges and a rebellious spirit to overcome adversity through these childhood days. Kazuma devoted himself to mathematics and English in junior high school. As a result, he was able to read the original technical books from abroad and acquired knowledge of electrical engineering and chemistry. After graduating from the electrical department of Kumamoto Technical High School, he was employed by the Hyogo Prefectural Office as an electrical engineer. In the following year, he joined Inoue Electric Manufacturing Co. and dedicated his time for domestication of an inductive protection relay originally developed in the U.S. The technology acquired at this time became the basis for the founding of OMRON. Sometime after that, Kazuma found that there was a demand for 1/20 second timers for X-ray photography. He immediately decided to change the name of his company to "Tateisi Medical Electric Manufacturing," and began supplying hospitals with superior timer devices. This led to an OEM supply of timers to a major x-ray equipment manufacturer, and in May 1933, Kazuma took the plunge and established Tateisi Electric Manufacturing in Osaka. Underlying his actions was a firm belief in the importance of contributing to society, no matter what he did. This belief lives in us today as our mission “to improve lives and contribute to a better society.” #OMRON
